Proposal to LMSC P&P to Address Coexistence
• The TAG developed a set of proposed
changes to the LMSC P&P
– IEEE 802.19-04/0010r1
• The document is being socialized with
members of all the wireless working groups
• The TAG is soliciting comments on the
document.
– The TAG would respectfully request that all
comments be submitted to the TAG, by April 30

Proposal to LMSC P&P to Address Coexistence
• The process establishes what a wireless
working group shall do at two steps in the
standards development process.
• At the PAR approval process the WG
shall:
– List all know standard with which the
proposed standard could mutually interfere.
– Describe the anticipated approach for
demonstrating coexistence.

Proposal to LMSC P&P to Address Coexistence
• Prior to requesting the SEC to submit the
draft for sponsor ballot the WG shall:
– Submit a coexistence assurance document,
demonstrating that the new standard
coexists with present standards, to the
802.19 TAG.
• The TAG will offer its technical opinion of
the coexistence assurance document.

TAG Plans
• Develop a coexistence assurance
methodology document describing how
to produce a coexistence assurance
document.
– Call for submissions was recently sent to
the various wireless WG reflectors
– IEEE 802.19-04-0007r3
– The TAG will be hearing submissions
starting at the May Interim session
