Welcome to the Wonderful World of Science Team Upstream: Mapping: Nathan, Brook, Marisa. Marsh Vegetation: Kate, EmilyKate, Allison, Jay, Christina. Vegetation Structure: Kurt, Ryan (Drew). Water Chemistry: Tobias, Adam • • Mapping GPS was used to map the upstream site and provide ground work for other research groups to overlay their data. The three sub-sites within the upstream site were Marsh, Dolomite Ridge Forest, and Riparian Forest Wetland Site Map • We compared the dominant vegetation zones in the wetland to the bathymetry as shown in the map. • We found that shallow areas contain only Reed Canary Grass. Vegetation Structure • We counted the number of species in each plant growth form type (tree, shrub, fern etc.) in each sub-site. • We also estimated the percent of ground coverage of each plant growth form. In Conclusion... • ALWAYS WEAR PANTS!!!! Ryan (Drew’s) legs
