Tropical Rainforests?
• 57% of Tropical Rainforests are located in
Latin America
• 1/3 are in Brazil
• Other Tropical Rainforests are located in
Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands (25%)
• West Africa has 18% of the World’s Tropical
Rainforests

Some landforms in the Tropical
Rainforest are the Amazon river. Many
other rivers are also located in the
rainforest area
Another landform is the Andes

Animals
One of the animals that live in the tropical
rain forests are Chimpanzees
 Chimpanzees eat nuts, leaves, and berries
 Orangutans also live in the tropical
rainforest
 They also feed on leaves and berries
 Both are in the Primate family
 One type of snake that lives in the rain
forest is the Vine Snake
 They feed on young birds and lizards


Bamboo is found in the Tropical Rainforests
It is the world’s largest grass
Sugar Cane is also found in the Tropical Rainforests
The stems of the grass plant are around ten feet tall
and full of sugar!
Rubber trees originally grew in tropical rainforests
but are now on plantations in southeast Asia.

tropical forests are rain forests, they have to lie
between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of
Capricorn, receive rainfall regularly throughout the
year (80-400 inches a year), and remain warm
without frost all year long!
