Agri-Environmental statistics AGRI-ENVIRONMENTAL STATISTICS - NEW FUTURE PLAN * This year was prepared to sign to Cooperation Agrimeent with the Phytoanitary Administration. * In 2013 we plan to carry out new survey about pesticides according our Statistical Annual Plan („Off. Gazette. MNE“, No 9/13) and according Regulation (EC) No 1185/09 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2009 concerning statistics on pesticides. * After 2015 we can make decision to start establish and development survey and common data requirements for purpose (Gross Nitrogen Budgets-GNB and Phosphorus Budgets-PB and AEIs), fertiliser statistics; nutrient flows. FORESTRY STATISTICS Regular surveys • • • • Wood fuel consumption - 2012 Supported through the Forestry Development in Montenegro (FODEMO) project, last year was conducted the survey on the consumption of wood fuels. The data were obtained from households, buildings of public importance, and industrial enterprises within the wood processing in Montenegro as well as from buildings of commercial importance. It creating new the energy balances for wood fuels. The publication „Wood Fuel Consumption for 2011 in Montenegro“ represents the results of annual survey on wood fuel consumption carried out by MONSAT in October 2012. ENVIRONMENTAL STATISTICS Regular surveys Pilot projects-waste 2013 • 2011 signed Memorandum about co-operation on environment topics between MONSTAT and EPA • 2012 signed Annex of rationalization and consolidation of data collection on statistics of waste in Montenegro • New pilot surveys: on waste generated in agriculture, construction and service sectors; waste brought landfill sites; survey on waste treatment and table for acquisition of data on number and capacity of recovery and disposal facilities. With carrying on all this surveys in the future almost all needed data of the Regulation on waste statistics will be achieved. AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS ACCORDING TO THE UTILISED LAND 1,83% 1,15% 0,69% 0,27% 1,09% 94,98% Utilised kitchen garden and/or gardens Utilised arable land Vineyards Orchards Nurseries Perennial meadows and pastures Agricultural Census 2010 AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS ACCORDING TO THE UTILISED LAND Total number of agricultural holdings in Montenegro enumerated by the Census of Agriculture 2010 is 48 870. Number of family agricultural holdings is 48 824, and number of business entities performing the agricultural activity is 46. A municipality with the lowest number of family agricultural holdings is Tivat – 0.35% and municipalities with the largest number of family agricultural holdings is Podgorica 14.89% of the total number of family agricultural holdings. Permanent meadows and pastures representing 94.98% from total area of available land. Main characteristics of Montenegrin agriculture is the large number of small agricultural holdings, with different crops and types of cattle. The average agricultural holding has 4.6 ha of agricultural utilised land. TABLE 1. AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS BY APPLICATION OF NUTRIENTS Census of Agriculture 2010 recorded 5 585 agricultural holdings which apply mineral fertilisers in the area of 5 218.3 ha. Agricultural holdings which use mineral fertilisers spend in average 575.6 kg of mineral fertiliser per agriculture holding, i.e. 616 kg per ha of treated area. Total 3 566 agricultural holdings apply natural fertilisers: In the area of 8 757.8 ha they use solid natural fertiliser in, and In the area of 321.9 ha liquid natural fertiliser. Agricultural holdings which use natural fertilisers spend 11 328 kg of natural fertilisers per holding or 4 613 kg per ha. TABLE 2. AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS BY APPLICATION OF NUTRIENTS AND PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS From total number of agricultural holdings in Montenegro, the biggest number of them used insecticide as plant protection products and the least number of them use bio-pesticide. Total 2 101 agricultural holding used herbicide in reference period in the area of 2 856.7 ha. In the area of 3 242.3 ha total 3 646 holdings applied fungicide for plant protection, while plant area of 446.7 ha was protected with insecticide.
