International Student Exchange Cards (ISE Cards), Inc. traces it's founding back to 1958 at the
University of Illinois, USA. The idea was to help students by enabling them to afford traveling by
utilizing the International Discounts offered by ISE. The company was formally incorporated in 1987 in
the State of Illinois, USA. The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Patent number:
1,564,435 on November 7, 1989. The ISE Card is the only student identification card to attain this
accreditation and protection. Initially, ISE Cards were issued only to American students traveling
overseas. By the late 1980's ISE Cards were also issued in Asia, followed by South and Central
America, the Middle East, Europe, Canada, Australia and South Africa. Today, the ISE Card is sold in
over 80 countries around the world. The ISE Cards Inc. USA has joint-venture with ISE Cards India
Limited for Asia & Africa, ISE Cards India Limited is incorporated in 2001 under Company of Law, Govt.
of India, as public limited company.

How does Prepaid Calling Card Operation work
As a PPCC service provider, operating a VoIP Gateway/Switch, you would arrange to have printed for sale
Prepaid Calling Cards of certain designs and of certain face value (please refer to the section on printing of
PPCC cards below).
The card has printed on it 2 pieces of essential information: (a) the telephone number the customer is to
dial to reach the VoIP gateway/switch and (b) a card number , also known as PIN (Personal Identification
Number) that is a unique number that is required by the PPCC service platform for authentication (or
validation) as to whether or not the caller (customer) should be permitted to use the service in the first
place.
Upon positive authentication, the PPCC service platform then voice-prompts the caller to enter the
Destination Number (DN) of the telephone number that he/she wants to reach.
The PPCC service platform calculates the maximum length of time the caller has for the call based on the
amount of credit in his/her account and the per minute rate applicable to the DN and then informs the caller
of it.
Generally the call flow is as follows:
 Gateway/switch (GS) answers the call from the user
 GS plays the greeting prompt

GS sends the account number to BukTel Service Platform (ESP)
ESP verifies the account number from the GS
ESP sends the verification result and account balance to GS

GS collects the digits of the destination number dialed by the user
GS sends the destination number to ESP
ESP verifies the destination number and calculates the maximum call duration
ESP sends the maximum call duration to GS
GS plays "The maximum duration for this call is..."
GS routes the call
GS plays "You have one minute remaining in this call" when (if) the elapsed duration of the call is one
minute less than the maximum
 GS waits for the end of the call
 GS sends the CDR (Call Details Record) to ESP
 ESP saves the CDR from GS
