NiagaraAX 3.1 – Lonworks
– Lon Enhancements
• Lon xml creation tool
– Allows user to create Lon Xml files from Lonworks *.xif and
resource files
– Can be organized in modules and imported using
BDynamicDevice/importXml
– Add support for LonObjects
» Can represent Lon device as a collection of LonMark
objects for easier device navigation
– Add support for default values in Lon Xml files
– Performance enhancements and fixes
» Better management of on demand polling of network
variables
» Faster building of manager views
– These changes were incorporated into 3.0.100 or earlier.

NiagaraAX 3.1 BACnet enhancements
– BACnet Enhancements
• multithreaded polling with IP and Ethernet - improves
performance on routed BACnet installations
• client support for loop object
• support for receiving alarms generated by several
additional alarm algorithms
• improvement to server side access to dramatically
improve performance
• improvement to learn speed by improved object list
retrieval
• numerous bug fixes that improve overall performance
– Most of this has been folded back into later 3.0 builds as
bug fixes.

NiagaraAX 3.1 JACE enhancements
– AX 3.1 will include support for NPM-2 w/ 128 MB
(more objects, bigger databases)
– Upgrading JACEs to AX 3.1 will convert the file
system to ETFS (“Embedded Transactional File
system”). This new file system technology from
QNX is specifically designed to be fault-tolerant. It
will enable us to migrate to larger flash parts in the
future. As a negative side effect, units upgraded
to 3.1 will not be able be downgraded to 3.0
– Added DDNS support

• JACE-201,JACE-403-AX and JACE-545-AX with
expanded memory
– With Niagara 3.1, the memory file system enhancement
enables new versions of the embedded JACEs
– JACE-201 will have an option for 128 MB of RAM
– JACE-403-AX and JACE-545 will have as an option:
• 256 MB RAM
• 128 Mb Flash
– Each platform will have additional resources, but the CPU
will become the overall resource factor.
– Availability late this summer
