Title in 72 pt. Arial Authors: 60 pt. Arial Affiliation: 60 pt. Arial Background Before you create your poster, check to see if the conference you are attending has specific poster formatting requirements. This template is for a standard 30 (h) X 40 (w). poster. Objective/Aim Results Scan resolution on images should be at least 200 dpi at the actual size the image will appear on the poster. A quick way to check the resolution of an image is to view at 200% on the slide. To Add Tables or Graphs: - To Insert graphs or tables from Microsoft Excel or Word, select the Insert menu, point to Insert Object, click the appropriate application. Or COPY then PASTE SPECIAL. Methods - Files from Non-Microsoft applications use SAVE AS or EXPORT to create a PICT, TIF, or EPS file then insert into your PPT document - on the Insert menu, point to Insert Picture, click From File. Avoid monospaced and sansserif fonts like Helevetica and Arial for the body text, since they are more difficult to read from a distance. Try to have as much white space as possible on a poster. Dark text and white background is best for posters. Always include a brief list of limitations. 2-4 is ideal for a poster. Save images to be inserted into your poster as TIFF files (.tif); greyscale or RGB. Do not copy and paste images directly onto your poster. Body text of 36 point in Times New Roman is ideal. Text should not be smaller than 24 pt. Baskerville, Century Schoolbook and other serif fonts are also good options since they are easier to read. Limitations - Consider using TEAL, PURPLE or GREY to complement the cardinal reds in your tables and figures. Conclusions Readers typically look at Conclusions and Future Directions first before deciding to look at the whole poster. Make this compelling. Future Directions Consider including a brief list of 3-5 key references under your future directions section. Key references can include ACGME requirements, white papers, or new AAP practice or policy guidelines. SEND YOUR POSTER TO YOUR CO-AUTHORS FOR REVIEW AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR DEADLINE.
