Safety Directors Why Aren’t You Bragging More? Workshop #214 Workshop Objectives • Discuss what AYSO means by a SAFE, fair, fun and positive environment in which all children and their families can enjoy the game of soccer. • Develop a strategy to communicate safety procedures to all Region participants. • Understand everything AYSO does to keep children and adults safe while enriching lives. AYSO is a leader in providing a safe environment for players and families. Safety Directors should be making sure that everyone in the community knows everything that AYSO is doing. What does bragging mean? • Blow your own horn • Show off • Sing your own praises • Talk big • Be immodest Muhammad Ali What are parents’ expectations? First Aid Insurance Player Release Forms Do parents know fields are inspected? • Prior to the season start to correct permanent problems • At the beginning of each game day to evaluate field conditions (taking into account weather) • Before each game to remove hazards created by debris or foreign objects left behind. The court rejected the parents’ insurance claim on the grounds that the child had never actually registered with the Region. Despite this fact, the girl was issued a uniform and permitted to play.
