Global Positioning System (GPS) The traffic police and health reports are covering just a limited part of the reported crash and casualties. Road safety can only be improved when we understand the causes and consequences of road accidents/collisions Analyzing the causes and consequences of crashes are important to work out remedial measures GPS and GIS are new standard and tools should be included into database July 2006, HIB provided 15 GPS devices to Reussei Keo traffic police in Phnom Penh for pilot phase. 9 7. Global Positioning System (GPS) In 2007, GPS using extended to 24 provinces. Training on the us of GPS also provide to traffic polices The benefit of using GPS device allowing us now to exactly locate crashes, using GIS data. The data has been used to identify the blackspot of crashes and understand the nature of crash. Provide information related to priority action to remedial the blackspot location. 10 8.
