Where We’ve Been • What is your experience with Quality Assurance? – Completed original Child Care Aware Quality Assurance, have not started NACCRRA QA – In Best Practices Self Study – In NQA submission phase – Awaiting validation – NACCRRA Quality Assured – Withdrew from process – Other? © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Where We Are • Original Child Care Aware® Quality Assurance • NACCRRA Quality Assurance – First Edition • Core Competencies • Parent Services • Provider Services – Second Edition • Business and Community Services • Best Practices Self Study Program © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Strategic Imperative • NACCRRA Board of Directors: – We expect and support child care providers to move towards quality through Quality Rating and Improvement Systems. – Shouldn’t we expect the same for CCR&R? • The future of our field requires high functioning CCR&Rs that will be sustained over time © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Board Task Force • Creation of the Task Force – Purpose: • Guidance on developing a continuous quality improvement program for CCR&R and State Networks – Process: • Meet once a month • Commit to work between calls • Commit to solicit feedback from colleagues © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Task Force Work Plan • • • • Review standards that are in place Develop a base line for CCR&R Add building blocks toward quality assurance Create tiers for quality improvement so agencies can strive for and be recognized for making improvements on the way to highest tier, which will be Quality Assurance • NOT revising Best Practices standards © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Engaging The Field • Early 2013 – Solicit and obtain input on Task Force’s recommendations for the continuous quality improvement system • 2013 and early 2014 – Pilot the continuous quality improvement system • July 2014 – Launch the continuous quality improvement system © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies Progress To Date • Recruited task force members in late fall 2011 • Convened in January 2012 and met twice • Focus on creating a manageable process where the hard work by CCR&Rs is recognized at a number of levels • Currently creating baseline © 2012 National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies What Do YOU Think?? 1. What should be the baseline for CCR&R in a continuous quality improvement system? 2. How should we measure progress by an agency? 3.
