Why JVA?
• What sets the JVA apart from any other junior volleyball
association is that we are solely focused on junior volleyball
• We are an organization that is run by junior club directors
for junior clubs.
• JVA Member Clubs are affiliated with USAV, AAU and some
are non-affiliated. But we are all interested in the best
program possible for our members.
• JVA is a voice for junior clubs - their programs and their
needs.
• All of the profits of JVA go to JVA.
• We need you to make sure that we are speaking for all

What has JVA Done to Honor
Our Mission to Date?
Study and Document Japanese Youth Volleyball Programs
• In 2008, we sent two of our members over to Japan for
two weeks to study youth volleyball training methods,
how they train, organize practices, etc.
• Rich Zeciski and Tim Hardt visited a number of clubs,
kept a journal and videotaped their experiences
• That information has been presented at the AVCA
National Convention and put on a DVD that was
offered for a limited time free of charge to our
members. It is still available for $10 for JVA Member
Clubs, $20 for non-member clubs.
www.jvaonline .org
Volley Tots Program
• The current membership model of most junior clubs
looks like a diamond and needs a larger base (pyramid
model) to fund programs and facilities.
• The Volley Tots Program was developed with
information on youth programs from around the world
and consultation with early childhood specialists and
psychologists.
• In the fall of 2008, we hosted the first Volley Tots Tour.
Another tour is planned for this winter. Requests have
come in from New York, Naples Fl., Milwaukee, WI,
Portland OR. Tour stops will be announced in a few
weeks.

at no charge to all coaches who participated in the
tournament.
The DVD’s are available for $10/each to JVA Member

and Club Services
• JVA is the first to provide Club Management Education with our Junior
Club Management Webinar series. This is the beginning of our initiative to
build a body of knowledge and resources for Junior Club Directors. Four
sessions were presented in October of 2010. The sessions are still
available for purchase at
http://www.avca.org/jva/index.cfm/jva-website/memberservices/education
• JVA has hosted a minimum of three sessions on youth volleyball and best
practices for club directors at each of the AVCA Conventions. Those
sessions have been recorded and are available to JVA/AVCA members.
• JVA secured event insurance for events and individual clubs that were in
need of an alternative to other insurance programs.
