FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS • Email: [email protected] by Tuesday March 17, 2015, @ 5p • Please fill out a name badge FAIR ACCESS TO INFORMATION MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY • 501 (c) (3) • Hold a current business license with the City of East Palo Alto if EPA based • Program must be located in and/or demonstrate services to EPA residents • Program must not have any outstanding grants with the City of EPA • Proposed program must support the Fund's priority strategic focus AVAILABLE FUNDING TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX (TOT) • Initiated in 1998 • Funded by the Four Seasons Hotel Tax • No sunset • FY2014-2015 1. $150,000 Pot 2. $16,000 Individual Grant Max 3. Purpose: The TOT tax provides a dedicated revenue stream for children, youth and family services, including senior citizens (CYFS), with an emphasis on quality summer programming. FUNDING GUIDELINES POLICY STATEMENT • City of East Palo Alto grant funds are flexible and can support a wide array of program costs that are in line with the proposed program. Realistic budgets that adequately account for true costs and the aspects of service that are key to program quality should be encouraged. CAPACITY BUILDING: Programs that demonstrate an understanding of the obstacles that inhibit people from realizing their developmental goals while enhancing the abilities that will allow them to achieve measurable and sustainable results. MATCHING FUNDS: Programs that show in-kind contributions and/or matching funds. INNOVATION: Programs that approach our community’s most challenging problems in areas such as education, the environment, poverty, health and wellness, and social justice. COLLABORATION: Programs that take a holistic approach to community and capacity building in the spirit of partnership.
