I first attempted to use the microwave yesterday and, no sooner I plugged it in when it made as alarming crackling noise and then the indicator lamp was off and it stopped working. I touched the outer surface and there was no sign of getting warmer. This was a most unpleasant experience and could have been quite dangerous. All other electrical items in my house are working well. Therefore, I do not think that this is a problem of faulty electrical wiring. The problem is definitely a defective microwave
